Imagine living in a hurricane zone, never fearing the destruction of your home. Think that sounds impossible? Think again. More specifically – think EPIC. Long Enterprises builds homes that withstand up to 235 mph winds, thanks to the EPIC precast wall system. The wall system is constructed with 5,000 psi concrete, which is both waterproof and stronger than block. Add a 140 mph truss system and 110 mph dimensional shingles or a 235 mph metal roof system and the safety factor of your home increases dramatically over standard construction practices.
“What we are trying to protect against is the wind gust damage generated by a hurricane,” says Tom Long, President of Long Enterprises. “We can also construct a safe room inside the home, usually incorporated into a walk-in closet for added safety and personal protection in the event of sudden storms.”
Long Enterprises is the first builder to offer the EPIC Wall System in Citrus County, although the precast system has been around for many years and is quite commonly used in commercial construction. It is widely used for residential construction in Europe, and is not uncommon in northern states.
Long Enterprises provides a high level of quality services to their clients. Their homes include double pane Argon filled Low-E windows, and are priced “turn-key” to include all of the costs to complete the home from start to finish. All options from Long’s standard specifications are provided to the customer with no mark-up.
