Want to be a Clown? We provide educational opportunities with Basic Clown Training, and Advanced Ongoing Training for experienced clowns. Overall clown training may consist of formal classes, private tutoring, specialized workshops, and also on-the-job type training, which is an Apprenticeship Clown Program for beginner clowns. While not free, our Clown School is affordable and you’ll have fun! Your friends will be impressed that you are attending Clown School – or if you prefer – Clown College. In fact, Citrus Clowns award Clown Diplomas as proof of your successful clowndom! What else would you expect from clowns?
The group does not receive funding. Each clown is responsible for his or her own training, makeup, costumes and transportation expenses.
However, donations are encouraged and appreciated for group clowning supplies such as stickers, balloons, prizes, giveaways and face painting. To donate, please make checks payable to The Friends of NCVC and specify “For Citrus Clowns” and mail to: Citrus Clowns, C/O Mary K. Hall, P.O. Box 500, Homosassa, FL 34487-0500 .
As a member organization of Citrus County’s Retired and Seniors Volunteer Program (R.S.V.P.), Citrus Clowns volunteer under the President’s “POINTS OF LIGHT” Foundation, a program to encourage volunteering in the United States of America. Under R.S.V.P. Citrus County provides liability insurance for those 55 years of age or older. Those under 55 are responsible for their own insurance. Some clowns may qualify for Citrus County limited mileage reimbursement.
